A young boy from a wealthy family had collected piles of old, broken crayons over the years. One day, he grew tired of the mess they made in his room. He went to his mother and said,
“Mom, I don’t want these broken crayons anymore. They’re useless and just clutter my room.”
Being the doting mother she was, she quickly packed up the crayons and threw them away.
The next day, the boy seemed unusually grumpy. His mother noticed and asked,
“What’s wrong, honey?”
He sighed, “I don’t like the scents in my room anymore. The air fresheners and oils make me feel sick. Can we get rid of them?”
Without hesitation, his mother gathered all the fragrances and threw them out, replacing them with new ones.
One evening, as they were driving home from the store, the boy looked out the window and saw something that made his eyes light up. A young boy, likely from a poor family, was selling beautiful, colorful candles that glowed brightly and filled the air with the most wonderful scents. A crowd had gathered, drawn to these unique “heavenly candles.”
“Mum, look! Those candles are amazing! They’d make my room look and smell fantastic. Can we buy some?” he asked, excited.
They parked and approached the candle seller, but the boy said apologetically,
“I’m sorry, ma’am, they’re all sold out.”
Disappointed, the rich boy’s face fell. Sensing his sadness, his mother asked,
“Where did you get these candles? I’d love to buy some for my son.”
The candle boy replied humbly, “I didn’t buy them. I made them myself.”
Amazed, the mother asked, “How did you make such wonderful candles? What did you use?”
The boy smiled and said, “I found a box of broken crayons someone had thrown away. Then I found bottles of old fragrances in the same bin. I melted the crayons, mixed them with the fragrances, and made these candles. Now they’re beautiful and valuable, and they bring happiness to others.”
The Moral:
Never feel disheartened if others look down on you or see you as “broken.” Often, the world overlooks hidden potential. Stay focused, keep faith, and give yourself time. Just like those discarded crayons, you can transform into something extraordinary that others will admire—even those who once rejected you.
Hold onto hope; your time to shine will come.
Keep Supporting, please…
What a beautiful story!
It is always amazing to see that what is considered “trash” by one person, can be turned into treasure by another.
