An old lady had a very intelligent cat named Oliver. Sadly, one day, Oliver got cancer and passed away.
Not long after, the old lady visited a pet store and bought another cat that looked just like Oliver. She named him Simba.
Soon, the old lady noticed something unusual about Simba. He was different from her previous cat.
Simba was a picky eater. He caught mice but refused to eat most of them. The old lady often saw him chasing mice around the house. When he caught one, he would inspect it carefully and then let it go.
This behavior confused and upset the old lady. She wondered why Simba acted this way. Unable to figure it out, she went back to the pet store and told the store owner,
"There's something about this cat that I don’t like."
The store owner asked,
"What is it, ma'am?"
The old lady said,
"He’s not as smart as Oliver. He spends so much time and energy catching mice, only to examine them and let them go! He barely eats any of them. Oliver never did this!"
The store owner thought for a moment and replied,
"Maybe you should observe Simba closely and find out why he’s behaving like this. Let me know what you discover."
A few days later, the old lady returned to the store and said,
"I’ve figured it out! Whenever Simba catches a mouse, he stares at its belly before deciding whether to eat it or not."
The store owner smiled and said,
"That’s amazing! Simba is much smarter than you think. He’s checking if the mice are pregnant. He doesn’t eat pregnant mice because he cares about the future. He lets them go so they can have babies and produce more food for him later!"
MORAL LESSON
Be smart and plan for the future. The future is uncertain, but we can prepare for it. While enjoying the present is important, we should also think ahead. Saving and planning for the future can help cover expenses, reduce stress, and achieve life goals. Always prepare for what’s to come!
